Isaiah 9:6 (verse 5 Hebrew Bible) 




So in the Christian Bible (verse 6). Translated in Future Tense



Isaiah 9:6 (NASB) “For a Child will be born to us, a Son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.”


In Hebrew Bible (verse 5). Translated in Past Tense

Isaiah 9:5 “For a child has been born to us, a son given to us, and the authority is upon his shoulder, and the wondrous adviser, the mighty God, the everlasting Father, called his name, "the prince of peace.”—


הכִּי־יֶ֣לֶד יֻלַּד־לָ֗נוּ בֵּן נִתַּן־לָ֔נוּ וַתְּהִ֥י הַמִּשְׂרָ֖ה עַל־שִׁכְמ֑וֹ וַיִּקְרָ֨א שְׁמ֜וֹ פֶּ֠לֶא יוֹעֵץ֙ אֵ֣ל גִּבּ֔וֹר אֲבִי־עַ֖ד שַׂר־שָׁלֽוֹם:


It should be translated as has been born



The phrase is yulad (יֻלַּד) has been born. In Strong’s Concordance H3205 listed as yalad (יֻלַּד). Look at the verses it will take you


For example 



Genesis 4:26 (NASB) “To Seth also a son was born (yalad (יֻלַּד)); and he named him Enosh. Then people began to call upon the name of the LORD.”


Genesis 35:26 (NASB) “and the sons of Zilpah, Leah’s female slave, were Gad and Asher. These were the sons of Jacob who were born (yalad (יֻלַּד)) to him in Paddan-aram.”


Judges 18:29 (NASB) "And they named the city Dan, after the name of Dan their father who was born (yalad (יֻלַּד)) to Israel; however, the name of the city was previously Laish."


The phrase should be has been called and here why


The phrase is vayikra (וַיִּקְרָא) has been named or has been called. In Strong’s Concordance H7121 as qara (וַיִּקְרָא). Look at the verses it will take you


For example


Genesis 1:5 (NASB) “God called (vayikra (וַיִּקְרָא)) the light “day,” and the darkness He called “night.” And there was evening and there was morning, one day.


Genesis 25:26 (NASB) "Afterward his brother came out with his hand holding on to Esau’s heel, so he was named (vayikra (וַיִּקְרָא)) Jacob; and Isaac was sixty years old when she gave birth to them.


Isaiah 22:12 (NASB) “Therefore on that day the Lord GOD of armies called (vayikra (וַיִּקְרָא )) you to weeping, to wailing, To shaving the head, and to wearing sackcloth.”


It's not uncommon for a man or thing to take on the title God. They are used as a vehicle or expression about who God is


Alter being called God


1) Genesis 33:20 (NASB) "Then he erected there an altar and called it El-Elohe-Israel."


*El-Elohe-Israel meaning (God, the God of Israel)



2) Look at how KJV and NASB translates Exodus 17:15


Exodus 17:15 (KJV) "And Moses built an altar, and called the name of it Jehovahnissi:"

*Jehovahnissi meaning (The LORD is My Banner)



Exodus 17:15 (NASB) “And Moses built an altar and named it The LORD is My Banner;”


3) Look at how KJV and NASB translates Judges 6:4


Judges 6:24 (KJV) "Then Gideon built an altar there unto the LORD, and called it Jehovahshalom: unto this day it is yet in Ophrah of the Abiezrites."


*Jehovahshalom meaning (The LORD is Peace)



Judges 6:24 (NASB) "Then Gideon built an altar there to the LORD and named it The LORD is Peace. To this day it is still in Ophrah of the Abiezrites."


Jerusalem called God



Jeremiah 33:16 (NASB) ‘In those days Judah will be saved and Jerusalem will live in safety; and this is the name by which it will be called: the LORD is our righteousness.’


Examples of men being called God



1) 1 Samuel 1:1 (NASB) "Now there was a man from Ramathaim-zophim from the hill country of Ephraim, and his name was Elkanah the son of Jeroham, the son of Elihu, the son of Tohu, the son of Zuph, an Ephraimite."


*Elkanah meaning (God has purchased). Elihu meaning (My God is he).


2) 1 Samuel 1:3 (NASB) "Now this man would go up from his city yearly to worship and to sacrifice to the LORD of armies in Shiloh. And the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were priests to the LORD there."


*Eli meaning (My God)


3) Judges 9:5 (NASB) "Then he went to his father’s house in Ophrah and killed his brothers the sons of Jerubbaal, seventy men, on one stone. But Jotham the youngest son of Jerubbaal was left, because he hid himself."


*Jotham meaning (The Perfect God)


4) 2 Samuel 21:19 (NASB) "And there was war with the Philistines again at Gob, and Elhanan the son of Jaare-oregim the Bethlehemite killed Goliath the Gittite, the shaft of whose spear was like a weaver’s beam."

*Elhanan meaning (God is merciful).


It should be noted no New Testament writer quotes Isaiah 9:6. Isaiah is describing the exaltation of King Hezekiah and the divine names bestowed upon him following the miracle when Jerusalem was saved from the Assyrian seige. The Christian Bibles purposely translate it to look future tense. Hezekiah name means Yahweh Strengths as well as Mighty God in Jewish traditions
