Is church really necessary?

Some have often asked is church really necessary?

Reason some may ask this, is they see that most churches today do not practice in accordance with the Bible. They may even see that members still live like the world. Often many think of church as the building. The building isn't necessary, it's the gathering together with like minded believers that is important. So here is a guide to accessing if a church is living in accordance to the Bible.

Interestingly the Bible says:

Hebrews 10:25 "not abandoning our own meeting together, as is the habit of some people, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near."

When finding the right church you should base it on the Bible

Questions to Ask When Examining a Church

Do they believe that scriptures are inspired by God?

2 Tim 3:16 "All Scripture is inspired by God and beneficial for teaching, for rebuke, for correction, for training in righteousness;"

Are the members in general loving?

John 13:35 “By this all people will know that you are My disciples: if you have love for one another.”

Do the members encourage one another?

1 Thessalonians 5:11 "Therefore, encourage one another and build one another up, just as you also are doing."

Are the members forgiving towards one another?

Ephesians 4:32 "Be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you."

Do they care for the poor, the widows, and orphans?

James 1:27 "Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world."

Do they seek out lost sheep in the flock who left or no longer attend church?

Ezekiel 34:6 “My flock strayed through all the mountains and on every high hill; My flock was scattered over all the surface of the earth, and there was no one to search or seek for them.”’”

Do church leaders take care of the flock?

1 Peter 5:2 "shepherd the flock of God among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion but voluntarily, according to the will of God; and not with greed but with eagerness;"

Do they strive for unity?

1 Peter 3:8 "To sum up, all of you be harmonious, sympathetic, loving, compassionate, and humble;"

Must Keep In Mind No such thing as a perfect church. It's filled with imperfect people

Romans 3:23 "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,"
